Atletico Madrid Vs Osasuna La Liga 2025

Atletico Madrid will look to extend their winning streak to 14 matches across all competitions when they host Osasuna in La Liga on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at the Estadio Civitas Metropolitano. The match, scheduled for a 3:15 PM GMT kickoff, could see Atletico reclaim the top spot in the league standings, currently trailing leaders Real Madrid by two points.

Diego Simeone‘s side has been in scintillating form, winning their last 13 matches, including a 1-0 victory over Marbella in the Copa del Rey earlier this month. Atletico’s strong home record, with 23 points from nine unbeaten matches, makes them favorites against an Osasuna team that has struggled on the road, securing just one away win this season.

Osasuna, sitting 10th in the table, are winless in their last six La Liga matches, drawing four and losing two. Despite their recent struggles, Osasuna stunned Atletico with a 4-1 victory in their last meeting at the Metropolitano in May 2024. However, Atletico has dominated the head-to-head record, winning 11 of the last 12 encounters.

Atletico will be without defender Josema Giménez due to a muscle injury, but Robin Le Normand is expected to step in. Antoine Griezmann and Julián Alvarez are likely to lead the attack, supported by a midfield quartet of Pablo Barrios, Conor Gallagher, Rodrigo de Paul, and Giuliano Simeone. Osasuna, meanwhile, will miss winger Bryan Zaragoza due to a broken toe and could deploy a defensive 5-4-1 formation to counter Atletico’s attacking threat.

Vicente Moreno, Osasuna’s head coach, remains optimistic, stating, ‘This is an opportunity to showcase ourselves and break statistics. We’ve done it before, and we can do it again.’ However, Atletico’s form and home advantage make them strong favorites to secure another crucial victory in their pursuit of the La Liga title.
