Auburn Gets Revenge With Kanye West's 'all Of The Lights' Against Alabama

Less than a month after Auburn‘s basketball game against Alabama was marred by a lighting malfunction at the Coleman Coliseum, the Tigers took the opportunity to exact some petty revenge. In their most recent matchup, Auburn played Kanye West‘s hit song ‘All of the Lights’ as a playful jab at Alabama for their stadium’s hellish glow during the previous encounter.

The earlier lighting malfunction had caused a delay of about 15 minutes, disrupting the game momentarily. Despite the setback, Alabama managed to secure a victory with a final score of 79-75. However, the amusing incident provided Auburn with the perfect material to tease their rivals before the game as they fired off a witty post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

This ongoing rivalry between Auburn and Alabama is what keeps the competition fresh. Even though this gesture may seem small, it adds an entertaining touch to the intense sports rivalry that exists between the two teams.

During the press conference following the initial lighting malfunction, Auburn’s head coach, Bruce Pearl, humorously commented on the situation. Addressing Alabama’s coach, Nate, Pearl said, ‘Look, if you guys want a new facility, just get a new facility. You don’t have to turn the lights off.’ These light-hearted exchanges highlight the camaraderie between the coaches while fueling the rivalry between their respective teams.

Auburn entered the game with a season record of 18-4 (7-2 SEC), eager to face their rivals, the Crimson Tide, who boasted a strong record of 16-6 (8-1 SEC). The lighting mishap provided Auburn with ample ammunition to taunt their opponents before the game, but ultimately, it’s the on-court performance that truly matters.
