Pakistan’s Captain Babar Azam has set a new world record in international T20 cricket, surpassing all others with his remarkable milestone of scoring the highest number of runs as a captain. Azam achieved this feat during the third T20 match against New Zealand in Ravalpindi, where he scored 37 runs, further solidifying his prowess in the cricketing world.

Babar Azam previously held a record of 2246 runs in T20 matches as a captain with an average of 37.43. He completed this magnificent milestone over the course of 67 innings, showcasing his consistency and skill on the field. This achievement now places Azam ahead of former captain Aaron Finch, who previously held the record with 2236 runs in 76 innings.

With this esteemed record under his belt, Babar Azam stands at the top of the T20 captaincy runs list, leaving renowned players like Ken Williamson, Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli trailing behind him. The current captain of India, Rohit Sharma, holds 1648 runs in 54 innings, while the legendary Virat Kohli has scored 1570 runs in 46 innings.
