Badoni and Arshad’s Record-breaking Partnership Steals the Show in LSG vs Delhi Capitals Clash
In a stirring display of resilience and determination, Ayush Badoni and Arshad Khan made history on Friday by setting the highest 8th-wicket partnership record in IPL history during the match between LSG and Delhi Capitals at the Ekana Cricket Stadium.
Struggling at 94/7, the duo rescued LSG with an unbeaten 73-run partnership that captivated spectators and etched their names in the record books.
This remarkable feat not only secures the top spot for the highest 8th-wicket stand in IPL history but also positions it as the second-highest partnership for the 8th wicket or below in the competition’s storied past.
The previous record-holder for this milestone was Gujarat Titans‘ Rashid Khan and Alzarri Joseph, who crafted an 88-run partnership against Mumbai Indians in a previous edition of the tournament.
Brad Hodge and James Faulkner closely follow in third place with a 69-run partnership for Rajasthan Royals against Mumbai Indians in Ahmedabad back in 2014.
During their innings, Ayush Badoni showcased his mettle by scoring his maiden IPL fifty in 31 balls, blending caution with aggression to thwart the spinners before launching a flurry of attacking strokes against the pace bowlers.
Arshad Khan’s contribution was equally vital as he provided crucial support to Badoni, showcasing his batting prowess and ensuring LSG set a competitive total of 167/7.
The partnership not only bolstered LSG’s batting line-up but also provided their bowlers with a defendable target, shifting the momentum in their favor in the thrilling encounter.
As sports enthusiasts revel in this historic partnership, it stands as a testament to the grit and determination displayed by Badoni and Arshad on the IPL stage.
