Baku Hosts Thrilling 30th Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 12 — The National Gymnastics Arena in Baku served as the stage for the 30th Baku Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship, which took place from April 10 to 12. Talent from various local clubs showcased their skills in front of an enthusiastic crowd, with gymnasts performing with hoops, balls, clubs, and ribbons across multiple age categories.
On the first two days of competition, gymnasts representing clubs including Ojag Sport Club, Baku Gymnastics School, Republican Complex Sports School, Grazia Sports Club, Palace of Water Sports, Shagan Olympic Sports Complex, and Zira Cultural Center participated in individual and group events, enhancing the competitive atmosphere. Categories spanned children born in 2015 to 2017, pre-juniors from 2012 to 2014, and juniors aged 10 to 11.
During the initial days, winners in the all-around events for various age classes were announced. Athletes in the children’s, pre-junior, and junior categories received recognition for their skills in group exercises, further igniting the competitive spirit of the event.
The concluding day of the championship was marked by an award ceremony, where winners were honored for their achievements in individual routines among children and pre-juniors. The ceremony also celebrated top performers in the group exercises, culminating in the team competition.
“The competition has been fierce and inspiring,” said a representative from the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation. “We are proud to witness the talent and dedication of our young gymnasts.”
As the final performances took place, the excitement at the National Gymnastics Arena underscored the importance of this championship in fostering young talent and promoting rhythmic gymnastics in Azerbaijan.
