Bane’s Buzzer-Beater Lifts Trail Blazers Over Magic in Thrilling Finish
ORLANDO, Fla. — Desmond Bane hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer on Monday night, leading the Portland Trail Blazers to a dramatic 115-112 victory over the Orlando Magic.
With the game tied and just 1.9 seconds on the clock, Bane launched a shot from 27 feet that secured the win. This thrilling finish capped a comeback for Portland, who had previously trailed by nine points.
Paolo Banchero led the Magic with 28 points and nine rebounds. He attempted to tie the game with a layup but missed a crucial free throw just before Bane’s game-winner.
Bane contributed 22 points and seven assists in the game. Jerami Grant was a significant player for the Trail Blazers, scoring 31 points while also finishing a late-game inbounds pass that temporarily put Portland in the lead.
Both teams fought hard throughout the match, trading the lead back and forth. Bane’s clutch shot was his only successful 3-pointer out of six attempts, while the Magic struggled with their 3-point shooting, completing just 26.7% from beyond the arc.
Orlando also faced challenges, playing their third game in four nights without guard Markelle Fultz due to a knee injury. Both Franz Wagner and Wendell Carter Jr. contributed with 19 points and nine rebounds each for the Magic.
Portland, on a five-game road trip, will face the New Orleans Pelicans next Wednesday. Meanwhile, the Magic will also be in action on Wednesday.
