Legendary performer Barbra Streisand has found herself in the midst of controversy after leaving a comment on fellow actress Melissa McCarthy‘s recent Instagram post.

McCarthy, known for her roles in films like ‘Bridesmaids,’ shared a snapshot from the CTG Gala event in Los Angeles, where she was accompanied by director Adam Shankman. Streisand, an EGOT winner, commented on the post, sparking a debate among fans.

In her now-deleted comment, Streisand wrote, ‘Give him my regards… did you take Ozempic?’ The remark raised eyebrows and led to a discussion on social media about body image, weight loss, and the use of medications.

Streisand later took to Instagram to clarify her comment, stating, ‘OMG – I went on Instagram to see the photos we’d posted of the beautiful flowers I’d received for my birthday! Below them was a photo of my friend Melissa McCarthy who I sang with on my Encore album. She looked fantastic! I just wanted to pay her a compliment. I forgot the world was reading!’

McCarthy has not publicly addressed the comment, and her representatives have yet to respond to media inquiries.
