Uefa Youth League Monaco Barcelona

FC Barcelona experienced a challenging start to their UEFA Youth League campaign, succumbing to a 4-3 defeat against AS Monaco in a dramatic seven-goal affair. Initially, things appeared promising for Barcelona, with two early goals giving them a strong lead.

Coached by Juliano Belleti, Barcelona opened the scoring with a remarkable strike from Arnau Prades, followed by a penalty converted by Hugo Alba, both within the first 36 minutes. However, Monaco quickly retaliated before half-time, equalizing with goals from Tincres and Buabre.

Despite efforts to regain control in the second half, Barcelona’s replacement midfielder, Pedro Fernández, scored, momentarily putting them ahead. Yet, Monaco maintained relentless pressure, with Tincres scoring again and Carvalho securing the win for the home team.

This defeat, particularly disappointing for the Catalan side given their early dominance, leaves them without points at the start of their UEFA Youth League journey.
