FC Barcelona Presents Espai Barça Project at ESSMA Conference
The Espai Barça project was showcased at the ESSMA conference, held at the Johan Cruijff ArenA in Amsterdam. Raul Alvarez, the Technical Area manager of Espai Barça, presented the project’s technical aspects during his speech titled ‘Transforming our Club and our city.’ The event focused on European Stadium & Safety Management Association. Alvarez emphasized the project’s aim of improving the stadium’s integration within the neighborhood and city, promoting sustainable mobility, and implementing environmental protection measures.
Espai Barça is a monumental undertaking by FC Barcelona to modernize and enhance their home and facilities in Les Corts. The project aims to create new spaces and generate additional income. Alvarez showcased renderings of the future Spotify Camp Nou and other new spaces to the attendees, providing details on the stadium’s design. Notable features include the two new VIP rings, situated between the second and third tiers, the Barça Hub entry point, and the preservation of the iconic 1957 façade through the GAP.
The ESSMA conference is a prestigious event in the stadium industry, serving as a platform for discussions on ongoing projects. This year’s conference held in Amsterdam allowed attendees to gain firsthand knowledge of the progress made on the Espai Barça project, including the construction of the new third tier.
