A day later, Real Madrid dominated Mallorca with a 3-0 win, setting the stage for another high-stakes Clásico. This will be the second official Clásico of the season, following Barcelona’s 4-0 victory over Real Madrid earlier in the campaign.

The Spanish Super Cup, which began in 1982, underwent a format change in 2020, transitioning from a single match between the league and cup winners to a ‘Final Four’ tournament. This year’s competition marks the fifth edition under the new format, with the final being held in Saudi Arabia for the third consecutive time.

Last year, Real Madrid claimed the title with a 4-1 victory over Barcelona, highlighted by a hat-trick from Vinícius Jr. and a goal from Rodrygo. A win for Real Madrid this year would tie them with Barcelona as the most successful team in the tournament’s history, with both clubs currently holding 14 and 13 titles, respectively.
