Bay FC Prepares for Home Opener Against Racing Louisville FC

SAN JOSE, Calif. (March 21, 2025) — Bay FC will compete against Racing Louisville FC for its 2025 season home opener at PayPal Park on Saturday, March 22, at 7 p.m. PT. This matchup comes after both teams secured points in their respective season openers, each finishing in a 1-1 draw.
In last week’s game, Bay FC faced Royals FC in Utah, where they managed to equalize after conceding early in the match. The club’s first goal of the season was a spectacular strike from Kiki Pickett, recognized as the league’s Goal of the Week for Week One. Despite strong efforts and a number of close attempts from players like Taylor Huff and Karlie Lema, Bay FC ultimately had to settle for a draw.
“We played well defensively,” said Bay FC head coach. “Our players showed resilience, and generating 51 entries into the final third illustrates our attacking potential.”
This weekend marks an exciting return to San Jose for Bay FC, hosting Racing Louisville for the first time since September 2024. The team has previously triumphed in both meetings against Louisville last season, which included a pivotal penalty kick during the last match at Lynn Family Stadium.
“It’s thrilling to perform at home in front of our fans again,” said player Asisat Oshoala, who was instrumental in last season’s victories against Louisville. “We are eager to bring our best and continue the momentum.”
Fans can expect a vibrant atmosphere with entertainment elements including a performance of the National Anthem by August Lee Stevens, along with a halftime show featuring the Bay FC Beats Drumline. The first 13,000 attendees will receive a special Poppy rally towel as a collectible.
Tickets for the match are available on the Bay FC website, and live broadcast coverage will be provided on ION. Bay FC encourages supporters to wear the new navy home jerseys and utilize the official app for real-time updates during the match.
“We’re looking forward to seeing all the supporters in the stands,” said Bay FC communications director. “Together, let’s create an unforgettable atmosphere for our home opener.”
As both clubs head into the match, Louisville will be aiming to build on their performance from their opening fixture against North Carolina. The club’s forward Emma Sears scored early in that match, demonstrating her skills as a key player for the season ahead.
“Tonight is a fresh start for us,” noted Racing Louisville’s head coach, speaking ahead of the San Jose showdown. “We’re ready to compete against a tough opponent in their stadium.”
As the clock ticks down to kickoff, excitement is building for what promises to be an exhilarating contest between two competitive teams.
