Caleb Williams Usc Basketball Game Cast

CHICAGO — Bears quarterback Caleb Williams was seen wearing a cast on his right hand while attending a USC basketball game on Saturday. The cast, however, is not related to an injury that will affect his preparation for the 2025 NFL season, according to team sources.

Williams underwent a minor elective procedure to remove a cyst, as reported by NFL Media‘s Ian Rapoport. A source close to the quarterback confirmed the surgery was “not serious” and will not impact his offseason activities. The 23-year-old was not listed on the Bears’ injury report for any wrist or hand issues during his rookie season.

During general manager Ryan Poles‘ season-ending news conference on Jan. 7, Williams was not mentioned among players requiring offseason surgery. The quarterback was spotted courtside at the Galen Center in Los Angeles alongside Bears wide receiver and fellow USC alum, D.J. Moore.

Meanwhile, the Bears continued their search for a new head coach, conducting virtual interviews with defensive coordinator Brian Flores and offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich on Saturday. The team has completed 16 interviews in its quest to hire its 19th head coach.

Williams, who led USC to a strong season, is now focused on his recovery and awaiting the Bears’ decision on their next head coach. The team’s offseason plans remain a priority as they aim to build around their young quarterback.
