Beloved actor James Sikking, known for his iconic roles on various television series and films, has passed away at the age of 90.

Starting his career in Los Angeles, Sikking’s early acting endeavors included appearances in productions such as Roger Corman’s Five Guns West and an episode of Perry Mason. He later went on to make guest appearances on popular 1970s TV shows like Mission: Impossible, M.A.S.H., The F.B.I., The Rockford Files, and Hawaii Five-O.

Sikking is best remembered for his role as Lieutenant Howard Hunter on the groundbreaking series Hill Street Blues, a character that resonated with audiences due to its unique blend of drama and comedy.

After his stint on Hill Street Blues, Sikking transitioned to playing Dr. David Howser, the father of the titular character on Doogie Howser, M.D., a role that further showcased his versatility as an actor.

He also appeared in notable films such as Star Trek III: The Search for Spock and The Pelican Brief, solidifying his presence in both the television and film industry.
