Beloved Bald Eagle Dies at Dollywood: A Loss for Wings of America Show
EVIER COUNTY, Tenn. – America, a cherished bald eagle who played a significant role in the Wings of America show at Dollywood, has passed away at the age of 35, announced the American Eagle Foundation. The foundation stated that America’s health had deteriorated due to inflammation of the heart, prompting the decision to peacefully euthanize him.
America was a participant in a bald eagle reintroduction program in Tennessee but unfortunately sustained a wing injury from a gunshot that prevented him from thriving in the wild. Consequently, he was placed under the care of the American Eagle Foundation, where he became a cherished educational ambassador for his species.
Known for leaving an indelible mark on all who encountered him up close, America touched the hearts of countless individuals. To honor America’s legacy, a plaque will be installed in the Wings of America Theater located in Craftsman’s Valley.
Dollywood expressed gratitude to America for his role in the Wings of America show. His majestic presence served as an inspiration to many visitors, allowing them to experience the enduring symbol of freedom.
It is with heavy hearts that the Wings of America show bids farewell to America, the beloved bald eagle.
