Domenico's Restaurant Levittown Closing

LEVITTOWN, New York — After nearly 60 years of serving meals and memories, Domenico’s Italian restaurant is closing its doors for good. The last dinner service will take place on Sunday, June 29, marking the end of a cherished local tradition.

Owner Domenico Belcastro announced the closure in a heartfelt farewell posted online. “There are places that serve food, and then there are places that serve memories,” he wrote. Belcastro expressed how Domenico’s has been more than just a restaurant, calling it the heart of his family’s story.

Founded in 1967, Domenico’s started as a small pizzeria and grew into a full-service restaurant renowned for its Calabrian recipes. The eatery hosted countless birthday parties, communions, and other family gatherings, nurturing relationships over plates of pasta and shared laughter.

Generations of diners flocked to Domenico’s for its beloved dishes, such as fried zucchini, ravioli, bruschetta, chicken parmigiana, and fried calamari. “This wasn’t just where we ate, but where we celebrated, where we laughed, and enjoyed the company of true friends and family,” Belcastro remarked.

News of the closing has prompted an outpouring of support from loyal customers, with many expressing their sadness on social media. One patron called it a “sad day for the Levittown community.” The Belcastros have invited as many patrons as possible to enjoy their favorite dishes in the weeks leading up to the closure.

“Though we say goodbye to these doors, the spirit of this place will forever live on in the memories we hold close. Grazie, sempre,” Belcastro concluded.
