Ben Shelton Faces Kamil Majchrzak in ATP Swiss Indoors Basel

BASEL, Switzerland — The 2025 ATP Swiss Indoors Basel heats up as American Ben Shelton takes on Poland’s Kamil Majchrzak in the Round of 32. The match, set for Tuesday at noon, marks Shelton’s return following an unsuccessful stint at the Rolex Shanghai Masters.
Shelton, currently ranked No. 6 in the world, aims to regain his form after two consecutive losses on tour. This season, the 23-year-old has achieved a career-high in the ATP rankings, following a significant victory at the Canada Masters. He boasts an impressive record of 37 wins against 19 losses and a remarkable 89% success rate in his service games on hard courts this year.
“Ben is looking to break his recent rut,” said a spokesperson from Shelton’s camp. “If he can find an early rhythm on serve, he should advance comfortably.”
On the other hand, Majchrzak has also been performing well lately, achieving his highest ranking of No. 61 in September 2025. He has won both of his qualifying matches in straight sets and has a win-loss record of 15-11 this year. However, he has yet to secure a tour-level title, which adds pressure to his performance.
The two players have yet to face each other, adding an exciting element to the upcoming match. Experts project Shelton as the favorite, with a 78% likelihood of advancing as per current betting odds.
As the match approaches, both players prepare to face off in what promises to be an exhilarating showdown in Basel.
