Ben Simmons Shows Promise for Upcoming Season

Ben Simmons, who used to shine with the Philadelphia 76ers, had a tough time last season playing for the Brooklyn Nets. He only made it onto the court for 15 games due to a nerve issue in his lower back. This setback was a big reason the Nets ended up with a disappointing record of 32–50, landing them in 11th place in the Eastern Conference.

Despite the rough patch, there’s hope for Simmons as we approach the new season. Nets General Manager Sean Marks recently offered a positive update about Simmons’ recovery. ‘By all accounts, he feels good and is trending in the right direction,’ Marks shared. He emphasized how important this year is—not just for the team but especially for Simmons. After all, he’s young enough to bounce back to his former glory.

Last season didn’t go as planned for Simmons. He ended up averaging just 6.1 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 5.7 assists per game, while shooting 58.1% from the field. His free-throw shooting was at 40.0%, which is something he will definitely want to improve on.

Looking ahead, it seems Simmons is putting in the work to return to his best self. Reports say he has been in Miami focusing on ‘rehab and prep work’ for the upcoming season. Fans and teammates are hoping all signs point to Simmons being at 100% when the new season kicks off.
