Bengals Elevate Kicker Cade York to Active Roster Ahead of Monday Night Game
The Cincinnati Bengals have elevated kicker Cade York from their practice squad to the active roster, as reported on Monday. This move comes in response to the injury of their regular kicker, Evan McPherson, who was placed on injured reserve last Wednesday due to a groin injury.
York, a 23-year-old kicker from LSU, will take on the kicking duties for the Bengals in their Week 14 game against the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football. This will be his second stint with a team this season, having previously kicked for the Washington Commanders in Week 1. During his only game with the Commanders, York made both of his extra-point attempts but missed both of his field goal attempts, one from 47 yards and the other from 56 yards, leading to his subsequent waiver.
York’s performance will be closely watched, especially given the Bengals’ high-scoring offense, which could provide him with several opportunities to make an impact. Despite his previous misses, this game against the Cowboys offers York a chance at redemption and to prove his reliability as a kicker).
