Bo Bichette Hits Milestone Home Run for Blue Jays

TORONTO, Canada – Bo Bichette, the Toronto Blue Jays shortstop, hit his 100th career home run on Saturday, marking a significant milestone in his career. This achievement came during a game against the Oakland Athletics.
Bichette, 27, began the week with two home runs against the Texas Rangers, and continued his success with another home run in the bottom of the second inning on Saturday. With this home run, he became the first shortstop in Blue Jays history to reach the 100 home run mark.
This season, Bichette is batting .279 with seven home runs, 32 RBIs, four stolen bases, and a .761 OPS. Throughout his career up to 2023, he maintained a .299 batting average and an .826 OPS, averaging 27 home runs and 96 RBIs per season.
Bichette’s accomplishments include being named an All-Star in 2021 and 2023, as well as leading the American League in hits in 2021 and 2022. He is now among 12 active shortstops who have hit over 100 home runs in their careers.
The Blue Jays secured an 8-7 victory over the Athletics on Saturday, contributing to their fourth consecutive win. George Springer also made a notable contribution by hitting two home runs later in the game. The team is looking to complete a sweep on Sunday against the Athletics.
