Big 12 Wrestling Championships Begin This Weekend in Tulsa

IRVING, Texas – The 2025 Big 12 Wrestling Championships are set to kick off at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on March 8 at 10 a.m. CT. The two-day event features the top collegiate wrestlers from six different schools vying for both individual titles and berths in the upcoming NCAA Wrestling Championship.
Iowa State, the reigning Big 12 team champion, enters the competition as a favorite, securing multiple top seeds. Evan Frost is seeded first in the 133-pound division, while Cody Chittum leads in the 157-pound weight class. Northern Iowa is also strong with Parker Keckeisen, the 184-pound Conference champion from last year, holding a top seed.
An impressive three wrestlers from Oklahoma State earned top seeds: Dean Hamiti at 174 pounds, Luke Surber at 197 pounds, and Wyatt Hendrickson at 285 pounds. The competition is heating up as these teams aim for dominance in one of the country’s premier collegiate wrestling conferences.
“We’re excited about the depth and talent being showcased at this year’s championships,” said Big 12 Conference Commissioner Bob Bowlsby. “It’s a great opportunity for these athletes to prove themselves, earn titles, and secure spots in the national tournament.”
The tournament format will feature six sessions across two days, with the first two sessions starting Saturday morning. The third session will take place Sunday, leading into the championship finals, which are scheduled for 8 p.m. CT. The initial sessions will stream on ESPN+, while the finals will be available on ESPNU.
Fans can look forward to enhanced viewing experiences this year, including The Podium Club, an exclusive hospitality space located mat-side, providing up-close views of the matches. Individual session tickets are currently on sale at the BOK Center Box Office, with all-session tickets starting at $37.
Wrestlers competing in the Big 12 Championships will also have their eyes on the NCAA Wrestling Championship, taking place at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia from March 20-22.
