Bigg Boss 18: Controversial Remarks Spark Tensions in the House
Bigg Boss season 18 has commenced with notable drama, as contestants Shehzada Dhami and Chum Darang engaged in a heated exchange in the reality show’s latest episode. The conflict arose after Shehzada Dhami made remarks considered offensive by Chum Darang, leading to a tense argument.
The incident occurred when Dhami commented on the spice level of food, stating “Mirchi lag rahi hai (It’s spicy),” to which Chum Darang inquired, “Yeh chutney? (This chutney?)” Shehzada’s response, “Tumhare udhar ki hai na (It’s from where you’re from),” was met with indignation from Darang, who replied, “I am Indian, and I am offended.” The altercation continued with accusations from Shehzada of verbal abuse, which Chum denied.
Chum Darang, hailing from Arunachal Pradesh, previously appeared alongside Bhumi Pednekar in the 2022 film Badhaai Do. The interaction highlights the complexities of cultural identity and perceptions within the Bigg Boss house, where contestants’ traits and backgrounds often become focal points of tension.
In another development on the reality show, a discussion between Vivian Dsena and Shehzada Dhami led to further friction. Vivian Dsena, sharing his views on the evolution of stardom and acting, stated, “Earlier it took ages to become a hero, you will only see those 10-15 heroes.” Dhami countered this view, pointing out changes in audience focus due to media expansion.
Additionally, Avinash Mishra, who was part of the discussion, asked Vivian to avoid generalizations, supporting Dhami’s viewpoint. Vivian addressed concerns over the industry’s current standard, asserting, “Your primary job is to be a good actor, the mindset today is influenced by short-spanned success.”
Shehzada Dhami, however, took exception to these remarks, linking it to his known dispute with Rajan Shahi from “Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.” Shehzada remarked, “Even if production houses think they have made actors big today, they work with this approach.” Vivian Dsena responded by advising Dhami to focus on resilience and personal growth.
The conversation further evolved with discussions among contestants Arfeen Khan, Vivian Dsena, and Avinash Mishra, who noted Dhami’s tendency to bring up past controversies, highlighting the impact of personal experiences in shaping current dynamics.
