Bill Belichick Delivers Pizzas to Support UNC Basketball Teams

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Bill Belichick, head football coach at the University of North Carolina, dedicated time this week to bolster support for both the men’s and women’s basketball teams ahead of the March Madness tournament.
On Tuesday night, as the UNC men’s basketball team prepared to face San Diego State in the First Four, Belichick spearheaded an initiative to deliver pizzas to various fraternities so students could enjoy the game together.
In addition to the fraternity deliveries, Belichick took a personal approach by delivering pizzas directly to the UNC women’s basketball team, which is set to compete against Oregon State in the first round of the tournament on Saturday.
During his visit with the women’s team, Belichick posed for a photo and shared encouraging words before their matchup. “It’s honestly a pleasure to be here, honor to be here,” Belichick told the squad. “We want to support you guys this weekend; I know you’ve got a big one coming up. We’ll be here pulling for you on Saturday. Want to wish you the best and congratulations on being a No. 3 seed.”
Belichick appears to be establishing a tradition of supporting the school, having previously shown his passion for UNC athletics during the rivalry basketball game against Duke in January. Since taking over as head football coach, he has actively promoted school spirit and engagement within the community.
Looking forward, Belichick is anticipated to be a visible presence at events, particularly when the Tar Heels host their first game with him at the helm against TCU on September 1.
