St. Louis Blues Vs Winnipeg Jets Playoff Game

ST. LOUIS, MO — The St. Louis Blues face a crucial Game 6 against the Winnipeg Jets on Friday night, needing a win to force a decisive Game 7 in the first round of the 2025 Stanley Cup playoffs. The game is set to start at 8 p.m. ET at the Enterprise Center.

The Blues found their momentum at home after losing the first two games of the series in Winnipeg, outscoring the Jets a combined 12-3 in the last two matches. With the series tied at 2-2, St. Louis has proven they can dominate on their home ice.

Head Coach Jim Montgomery noted the team strategies that contributed to their recent success: “Getting to the net-front, our defensemen having a shot-first attitude, has really helped us create garbage, ugly goals,” he said. The Blues have also relied heavily on their defense, which has scored the most points among defensemen in the playoffs.

In Game 5, forward Jake Neighbours stood out, contributing three points, including a goal and two assists, solidifying his role in the series. Montgomery praised Neighbours, stating, “Our D have been phenomenal, breaking pucks out with their feet and shooting lots of pucks.”

However, the team faces a setback as defenseman Tyler Tucker cannot play due to an injury sustained in Game 4. Veteran Ryan Suter will step in to fill the void.

Winnipeg, on the other hand, remains determined. With a victory, they will secure their spot in the second round, emphasizing the significance of the matchup. The Jets are looking to regain their early series dominance after losing both games in St. Louis.

As the stakes rise, Blues captain Brayden Schenn highlighted the team’s mindset ahead of the crucial game. “It’s been a tight series. It’s going to be a tough Game 5,” he said. The outcome will determine whether the Blues can extend their playoff run.
