2024 Afl Mark Of The Year Bobby Hill

In a notable recognition of their exceptional performances, Collingwood forward Bobby Hill and West Coast’s Harley Reid have been honoured with prestigious awards from the Australian Football League (AFL). Bobby Hill clinched the 2024 Virgin Australia AFL Mark of the Year, while Harley Reid was celebrated with the NAB AFL Goal of the Year.

Bobby Hill’s remarkable aerial feat took place during Collingwood’s Round 14 match against North Melbourne. Hill, showcasing his athletic prowess, utilized two North Melbourne players and a teammate as a springboard to secure what has been deemed the best mark of the year. Hill humorously remarked on his achievement, indicating, “Oh probably Grand Final Day,” when asked if it was the best mark of his career.

Hill’s award includes a prize of $50,000 in cash and two million Velocity Points provided by Virgin Australia. When queried about his plans for the award, Hill quipped about possibly taking his teammate Jamie Elliott to Las Vegas, highlighting their on-field camaraderie.

Meanwhile, Harley Reid’s stellar performance was recognized for his dynamic goal scored in round 10 against Melbourne. His award-winning effort saw him burst from a stoppage and execute a running goal from just inside the 50-meter line. Reid’s accomplishment in his debut season marks a significant moment for the West Coast team.

The winners were selected through a voting process that involved both the All-Australian panel and the public. In addition to the cash prize, Reid’s accolade brings $10,000, courtesy of NAB, to his junior football club, Tongala, located in regional Victoria.

The annual awards celebrate outstanding talent and skill in Australian Rules football, serving as a highlight within the AFL season and drawing attention to individual brilliance and potential future stars of the game.
