FISHERS, Ind. — In a thrilling second semifinal match of the 2025 Chipotle Nationals on Friday, the top-seeded Columbus Explorers edged out the Brewster Bobcats with a nail-biting 47-45 victory. The game was marked by intense defensive strategies and clutch performances, culminating in a last-second shot that secured Columbus’s place in the championship game.

Both teams entered the locker room at halftime tied 19-19, showcasing their defensive prowess throughout the first half. Columbus, ranked No. 1 in the On3 Composite Rankings, struggled to gain separation, facing Brewster’s imposing defense which is known as one of the best in the nation.

Columbus’s Cameron Boozer, who will be joining Duke University next season, had nine points and a game-high nine rebounds. His twin brother, Cayden, also a future Blue Devil, led the Explorers with 15 points, 11 rebounds, and four blocks. “We just focused on playing our game and staying calm in high-pressure moments,” commented Boozer after the game.

The decisive moment came with less than 10 seconds remaining. With the game tied at 45, Brewster star Wilkins sank a pivotal 3-pointer, bringing the momentum back to his team. However, Boozer quickly answered, racing down the court and launching a tough midrange jumper just before the buzzer. His shot landed clean, propelling the Explorers to victory and a spot in the championship.

Brewster fought valiantly, led by Wilkins, who finished with 14 points and 12 rebounds. They maintained pressure on Columbus throughout the game, forcing them to make difficult shots. “We left it all on the court, but it just wasn’t enough,” Wilkins said post-game.

The Bobcats took an early lead in the second half, but Columbus responded effectively, including a burst of scoring from junior small forward Moore, who contributed 11 points. The teams battled back and forth, with Columbus briefly extending their lead to seven points before Brewster clawed their way back.

As the final moments approached, both teams had their chances. Columbus saw their lead shrink to three points after Gaskins made two free throws, setting up a tense finish. Brewster executed multiple shots on their final possession, finally tying the game before Boozer’s clutch jumper decided the outcome.

With the win, the Explorers will face the No. 10 seeded Texas team, coached by Jermaine O’Neal, in the championship game set to tip off Saturday at 12 p.m. ET.
