Brad Marchand Eating Honey During Game

Florida, USA – Brad Marchand, the forward for the Florida Panthers, caused a stir during the intermission of Saturday night’s game against the Carolina Hurricanes. In a surprising turn, he was seen eating something with a spoon amidst the excitement of a 6-2 victory.

After the game, Marchand lightheartedly addressed the situation. He had joked about eating a chocolate chip cookie dough Blizzard, leading many fans to believe he had indulged. “I was making a joke compared to our excursion from a couple nights before,” Marchand told The Athletic’s Michael Russo. “I think people took it seriously.”

The attention spiraled, with fans sending him messages about visiting Dairy Queen on Sunday. “I appreciate the support; I love a good Blizzard more than anybody,” he added, clarifying, “but it’s not something I’ve had in the middle of the game.”

Marchand revealed that he was actually eating honey — or at least that’s what he claims. “It was something healthy,” he said. “It was a spoonful of honey. Because I’m a bear. I’ve always loved honey.” He went on to share a childhood memory, “Actually, when I was growing up, I loved Winnie the Pooh, so I used to have a Winnie the Pooh bear and I would feed the bear honey.”

As a free agent this offseason, Marchand may find himself landing endorsements along with a new contract, thanks to his whimsical personality and connection with fans.
