BATON ROUGE, La. — Former LSU defensive end Bradyn Swinson is hoping to transition from college football to the NFL after a standout season. After leading the Tigers in sacks and tackles for loss, Swinson is poised to enter the 2025 NFL Draft.

Under the guidance of first-year defensive ends coach Kevin Peoples, Swinson blossomed into a formidable force on the field. His performance and determination earned him an All-SEC selection, showcasing his ability to disrupt opposing offenses.

Swinson, who transferred to LSU after three seasons at Oregon, became a reliable starter during his time with the Tigers. Over five years of college football, he appeared in 55 games, recorded 128 tackles, including 25 for loss and 13.5 sacks. Scouts have noted his solid frame and impressive length, as well as his active hands when facing offensive tackles.

While Swinson possesses many strengths, analysts also point out areas of concern, particularly his leaner build. This could pose challenges against faster NFL lines and running backs. Currently, he is expected to be selected on day two of the draft.

“Swinson is competitive at the point of attack,” said an unnamed analyst. “He uses his length and footwork to beat blocks and tackle effectively.”

Recent evaluations of Swinson highlight his potential as a pass-rusher. As a one-year starter with significant production, he’s noted for his impressive speed-to-power conversion and improved run defense while at LSU. However, scouts suggest he will need to add muscle to succeed at the pro level.

Potential teams may see Swinson as a fit for their edge rusher position, particularly for those looking to complement established players like Micah Parsons and Dante Fowler. As the draft approaches, Swinson’s name continues to gain traction, illustrating the excitement surrounding his potential entry into the NFL.
