Tampa Bay Lightning Vs Florida Panthers Game 4

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Tampa Bay Lightning forward Brandon Hagel will return to the lineup after serving a one-game suspension for interference during a playoff game against the Florida Panthers. The Lightning face the Panthers in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference First Round on Monday at 7 p.m. ET.

The suspension resulted from a hit Hagel delivered on Panthers captain Aleksander Barkov during Game 2, which left Barkov unable to return to that match. The NHL’s Department of Player Safety ruled the hit as interference, stating that Barkov was not in possession of the puck at the time of contact.

“It’s going to be great to have him back,” Lightning coach Jon Cooper said. “He’s a big part of our group and brings so much energy and skill to the ice.”

The Lightning bounced back with a 5-1 win against the Panthers in Game 3, propelled by their offense and improved penalty kill. They are currently down 2-1 in the best-of-seven series. Hagel is expected to contribute significantly, having achieved a career-high 90 points this season.

“I think we played for him in Game 3,” said teammate Anthony Cirelli. “He’s one of us; he’s our family in here. We’re ready for him to bring even more energy in Game 4.”

The Panthers, the defending Stanley Cup champions, hope to regain momentum after the Lightning’s decisive win. Barkov was cleared to play in Game 4 and poses a significant threat to the Lightning’s defense.

“We know they’ll come out hard, and we have to be ready to push back,” said Lightning forward Brayden Point. With both teams at full strength, anticipation is high for a competitive matchup in this Florida rivalry.
