Brandon Ingram Leads Raptors to Eighth Straight Win Over Cavs
TORONTO, ON — Brandon Ingram scored a season-high 37 points, leading the Toronto Raptors to a 110-99 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday night. This win marked the Raptors’ eighth consecutive victory, continuing their impressive performance in the NBA.
Ingram’s breakout third quarter, where he scored 15 of his total points, was pivotal for Toronto. Alongside Ingram, Scottie Barnes contributed with 18 points and 11 rebounds. The Raptors have now won 12 of their last 13 games, sweeping the season series against Cleveland.
Despite being without key players, including RJ Barrett, who is sidelined with a sprained right knee, the Raptors showcased resilience. Head coach Darko Rajakovic confirmed that Barrett’s injury isn’t serious.
For the Cavaliers, Donovan Mitchell struggled through an off night, scoring just 17 points on 6-for-20 shooting after a slow start. Cleveland also missed several players due to injuries, including Darius Garland and Jarrett Allen, limiting their options on the court.
Throughout the game, Toronto fought back after diving into a slight deficit. They ended the first half on a 13-2 run to take a 57-54 lead into halftime.
Cleveland attempted a rally late in the fourth quarter when Jaylon Tyson’s shot cut the lead to six, but Ingram responded with a crucial three-pointer to stretch the gap back.[/p>
Cleveland now looks ahead to their next game against the Atlanta Hawks on Friday, while the Raptors will host the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday.
