Brant Brown St. Louis Cardinals Hitting Coach

The St. Louis Cardinals have announced significant changes to their coaching staff for the 2025 season. Brant Brown, a veteran coach with a diverse background in Major League Baseball, has been named the new Hitting Coach for the Cardinals.

Brown, 53, brings a wealth of experience to the role. He recently served as the Bench Coach and Offensive Coordinator for the Seattle Mariners for part of the 2024 season. Prior to that, he was the Hitting Coach for the Miami Marlins in 2023. His coaching career also includes stints as the Assistant Hitting Coach for the Los Angeles Dodgers from 2020 to 2022 and various roles within the Texas Rangers and Mariners minor league systems.

In addition to Brown’s appointment, the Cardinals have also announced that former Cardinals World Series Champion outfielder Jon Jay will join the team’s Major League coaching staff. Jay, who played for the Cardinals from 2010 to 2015 and was part of their World Series-winning teams in 2011 and 2013, will serve as a coach. Jay has most recently been the First Base/Outfield Coach for the Miami Marlins.

Cardinals Hall of Famer Willie McGee, who has been a coach since 2018, will transition to a new role as Special Assistant to President of Baseball Operations John Mozeliak. The team indicated that further additions to the Major League coaching staff for 2025 are planned.
