Ronald Acuña Jr. Complete Game Pitcher

MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin — The Atlanta Braves triumphed over the Milwaukee Brewers 6-2 on Wednesday, securing their first series victory since mid-May. Ronald Acuña Jr. and Harris each contributed two-run homers, helping the Braves win two out of three games in the series.

Braves pitcher Schwellenbach (5-4) delivered a stellar performance, allowing just five hits while striking out nine batters and walking none. He completed the game in 105 pitches, 76 of which were strikes. This marked his first career complete game, an impressive feat that comes after seven consecutive starts where he pitched at least six innings.

Harris initiated the scoring in the second inning with a homer off Brewers rookie Patrick, who fell to a 3-6 record following the loss. Acuña, returning from the injured list on May 23, added his sixth home run in the fourth inning, further solidifying the Braves’ commanding lead. Acuña also contributed two singles during the match.

The Brewers managed their only runs in the game through a two-out RBI double in the eighth inning, but Schwellenbach remained composed, shutting down Milwaukee’s efforts to rally back.

Milwaukee’s star player, Christian Yelich, missed his second straight game due to a swollen right wrist, injury he sustained during a game against Philadelphia earlier this month.

Key moments included a close call at home plate where Chourio, who tripled earlier in the first inning, was tagged out on a grounder thrown to the plate. Schwellenbach’s performance continued to impress, especially given that his previous longest outing had been eight innings against Miami.

Looking ahead, the Braves will send RHP Kyle Wright (2-3, 4.08 ERA) to the mound against the Colorado Rockies on Friday, while the Brewers will give RHP Jacob Misiorowski a chance to shine in his major league debut against the same team.
