Brayden Burries Basketball Player Announcement

RIVERSIDE, Calif. — Top high school basketball recruit Brayden Burries will announce his college commitment Wednesday at 9:45 a.m. PT on ESPN’s SportsCenter. The five-star combo guard is expected to choose among Arizona, Oregon, Alabama, Tennessee, and USC.

Burries, currently ranked as the 11th best player in the 2025 class by 247Sports, has been a highly sought-after prospect due to his impressive performance at Eleanor Roosevelt High School in Southern California. Known for his scoring ability and all-around game, Burries averaged 27.2 points, 8.3 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 2.8 steals per game over the last two seasons.

“Burries is a big-bodied scoring guard and three-level threat,” said Adam Finkelstein, director of scouting at 247Sports. “He has developed an excellent feel for the game, with a strong frame that complements his versatile attack.”

Burries, who turned 19 in September, possesses a mature physicality and is adept at navigating contact during drives to the basket. He is also capable of shooting from mid-range and beyond the arc, with an 83% free-throw shooting percentage. This season, his shooting has varied, with a reported 30% success rate from three-point range in EYBL play.

As he contemplates his college choice, Burries is focused on three main factors: the living situation, the style of play, and the relationship with the coach. “If you have a really great relationship with the coach, he’s got to be able to be honest with you, look you in the eye, and tell you the truth,” Burries said.

Arizona has emerged as a strong contender for Burries’ commitment, boasting an 81.1% chance of landing him according to recent predictions. The Wildcats have already secured commitments from other top prospects, including five-star forward Koa Peat and three-star guard Bryce James, the son of NBA star LeBron James. A commitment from Burries would elevate Arizona’s 2025 recruiting class to the No. 4 spot in the 247Sports rankings, the highest during coach Tommy Lloyd‘s tenure.

Should Burries choose Arizona, he would join a backcourt that includes returning point guard Jaden Bradley, enhancing the Wildcats’ competitiveness in the Big 12. With a blend of offensive skills and defensive tenacity, Burries brings versatility and strength that would be vital for his new team.

As NCAA basketball fans await his announcement, Burries has made it clear that wherever he commits, he intends to make a significant impact. “My goal is to get to the NBA and stay there,” he stated. “I want to make sure how they play fits me and that the coach allows me to play through mistakes.”
