MILWAUKEE — The Milwaukee Brewers have reinstated left-handed pitcher DL Hall from the 60-day injured list while optioning rookie right-hander Logan Henderson to Triple-A Nashville. The moves were announced Monday, just ahead of the Brewers’ afternoon game.

Hall returns to the big-league roster after dealing with a lat strain, while Henderson impressed with a 3-0 record and a 1.71 ERA across four starts this season. He made history by becoming the first Brewer to win his first three major league games and the first player in the modern era to strike out seven or more batters in his first three games.

Manager Pat Murphy praised Henderson’s performance, stating, “The kid has been so good,” but explained that the team needed to manage their rotation as Hall and other injured pitchers were returning. “Quite frankly, for some of these young guys, get a blow. Get a rest. They’re just not machines,” Murphy added.

Alongside Hall’s return, the Brewers expect Brandon Woodruff to join the rotation soon. Woodruff, who has been sidelined since September 2023 after major shoulder surgery, was delayed by ankle tendinitis but is now on the mend.

Henderson made a strong impression when he debuted on April 20, allowing just one run and striking out nine in six innings. Murphy noted Henderson’s potential for the future, stating that even with this demotion, the 23-year-old “totally understands how this works” and is ready to work hard in Nashville.

Hall expressed his enthusiasm about returning, saying, “With the past two years having the injury bug, I’m itching every day to get back on the field.” Despite his ups and downs in the majors, Hall’s talent remains evident, highlighted by a strong fastball and other pitches.

The Brewers have faced rotation challenges this season, leading to young players like Henderson receiving opportunities. With the return of experienced pitchers, Murphy is focused on keeping the entire staff healthy and effective.

As the season progresses, the Brewers are evaluating their pitching depth for the future, particularly with multiple veterans set to become free agents after the season. This strategic move to send Henderson down may help manage the team’s long-term goals while allowing players like Hall to prove themselves on the mound.
