Bridgerton actress Adjoa Andoh made a special guest appearance on Channel 4‘s live coverage of the General Election, where she shared her thoughts on the leadership of the Labour party.

During the broadcast, Andoh expressed her support for a collaboration between Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer and shadow chancellor Rachel Reeves, highlighting the need for stability in the country. She specifically commended Reeves for her steady and sensible approach, advocating for a return to more grounded policies.

Andoh referred to recent descriptions of Sir Keir as ‘political vegetable broth,’ contrasting the flashy and indulgent image of the Tories with the desire for a more modest and steady leadership from Labour. She emphasized the importance of financial stability and the avoidance of extreme measures in the current political climate.

After the announcement of Rachel Reeves’ victory in Leeds West and Pudsey, Andoh commended her dedication and promised to fulfill the trust placed in her by the constituents.

Commenting on Reform UK‘s win with Lee Anderson becoming their first elected MP, Andoh noted the sense of disenfranchisement felt by some voters and drew parallels to the ‘Make America Great Again’ movement. She expressed concern over the nostalgia for a specific past era and questioned the inclusivity of such sentiments.

Having returned home to vote in the election after being on holiday, Andoh encouraged her followers on Instagram to exercise their right to vote and emphasized the historical significance of this democratic act.
