Denver Broncos Vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers

In anticipation of their Week 3 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Denver Broncos have announced their list of seven inactive players for the game. This decision comes on the heels of a confirmation on Friday that safety JL Skinner would be sidelined due to an ankle injury sustained earlier this week. The additional players listed as inactive include quarterback Zach Wilson, wide receiver Devaughn Vele, running back Blake Watson, cornerback Kris Abrams-Draine, tight end Lucas Krull, and defensive lineman Eyioma Uwazurike.

Despite being inactive, Zach Wilson will assume the role of the emergency third quarterback. This means he is eligible to participate should the Broncos’ two active quarterbacks suffer injuries during the game.

On a more positive note for the Broncos, rookie wide receiver Troy Franklin will be active, continuing his participation after debuting in Week 2. Additionally, rookie tackle Frank Crum will make his first appearance of the season as an active player.

The hosting Buccaneers are also dealing with injury challenges. Defensive lineman Vita Vea, who suffered a knee injury during last week’s game in Detroit, has been confirmed out and is expected to miss at least one game. This update was provided after he was downgraded to the ‘out’ category on the team’s injury report issued Saturday.

Vea is among five Buccaneers players who will miss the game due to injuries. Defensive lineman Calijah Kancey, who has been recovering from a calf injury since the preseason, is set to miss his third consecutive game. Meanwhile, All-Pro safety Antoine Winfield will sit out for a second week following a foot injury in the season opener. Right tackle Luke Goedeke remains sidelined after sustaining a concussion in Week One, and rookie wide receiver Kameron Johnson is not fit to play due to an ankle injury.

However, cornerback Josh Hayes, known for his special teams contributions, is back in the lineup after missing the previous game with an ankle issue. Defensive lineman Will Gholston has been cleared to play despite a knee problem that had him listed as questionable.

Both teams submitted their official lists of inactive players 90 minutes before the scheduled kickoff at Raymond James Stadium. The Buccaneers had earlier elevated defensive lineman Mike Greene and wide receiver Sterling Shepard from their practice squad to ensure a squad of 55 players, from which they declared seven as inactive. Similarly, the Broncos elevated running back Tyler Badie and defensive back Tanner McCalister from their practice squad, allowing them to designate their inactive list.
