Browns Interview Saints’ Klint Kubiak for Offensive Coordinator Role
CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Cleveland Browns are continuing their search for a new offensive coordinator, with Saints offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak scheduled for an interview Monday, according to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com. Kubiak, 37, has a history with Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski from their time together with the Minnesota Vikings.
Kubiak served as an offensive quality control coach for the Vikings from 2013 to 2014, overlapping with Stefanski’s tenure as assistant quarterbacks coach and tight ends coach. The two reunited in 2019 when Kubiak was Minnesota’s quarterbacks coach and Stefanski was offensive coordinator. The Browns have been in the market for a new offensive coordinator since firing Ken Dorsey after the conclusion of the 2024 season.
The Seattle Seahawks have also requested to interview Kubiak, who remains under contract with the New Orleans Saints despite the midseason firing of former head coach Dennis Allen. The Browns have already interviewed several candidates, including tight ends coach Tommy Rees, Seahawks quarterbacks coach Charles London, Dolphins quarterbacks coach Darrell Bevell, and Falcons tight ends coach Kevin Koger.
Meanwhile, the New England Patriots are reportedly considering Rees for a role on their coaching staff under new head coach Mike Vrabel. Rees, a former Notre Dame quarterback, has a diverse coaching background, including stints at Northwestern, the Chargers, Notre Dame, and Alabama. This season marked his first with the Browns, where he worked with four different starting quarterbacks.
Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer reported that Rees is “of interest” to the Patriots, though it remains unclear what role he might fill. Vrabel has prior experience working with Rees, which could make him a natural fit in New England’s revamped coaching staff.
