Bill Musgrave Cleveland Browns Coach

MOBILE, Ala. — The Cleveland Browns have promoted Bill Musgrave to quarterbacks coach, filling the vacancy left by Ashton Grant, who departed for the same role with the New England Patriots. The move was announced Tuesday, solidifying Musgrave’s position as a key figure in the team’s offensive staff.

Musgrave, 57, has served as a senior offensive assistant for the Browns over the past two seasons. With extensive experience as both an offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach, he brings a wealth of knowledge to the role. Prior to joining the Browns, Musgrave held coaching positions at eight other NFL teams and served as a quarterback in the league earlier in his career.

The promotion comes as part of a broader reshuffling of the Browns’ offensive coaching staff. Tommy Rees, previously the tight ends coach, was recently elevated to offensive coordinator. The team has yet to announce a replacement for Rees’s former position.

Musgrave’s appointment is seen as a strategic move to support Rees in his first year as offensive coordinator. “Bill’s experience and expertise will be invaluable as we continue to build our offensive strategy,” said a team spokesperson. “His ability to develop quarterbacks and his deep understanding of the game make him the perfect fit for this role.”

The Browns are entering a critical phase as they prepare for the upcoming NFL season. With Musgrave’s promotion, the team aims to strengthen its offensive coaching staff and build on the progress made in recent years.
