Browns Skip QBs Again, Draft RB Quinshon Judkins and LB Carson Schwesinger

CLEVELAND, Ohio (AP) — The Cleveland Browns made strategic decisions during the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft on Friday night, opting to pass on quarterback selections twice.
The Browns began their night by drafting UCLA linebacker Carson Schwesinger with the 33rd overall pick, followed by Ohio State running back Quinshon Judkins at No. 36. This decision comes as the team looks to solidify its roster after finishing with the NFL’s worst scoring offense last season.
Judkins, at 6 feet tall and weighing 221 pounds, will fill a crucial gap in the Browns’ backfield. Cleveland has struggled to stabilize its running game since star back Nick Chubb suffered a knee injury in September 2023. Although Chubb returned to the field in 2024, he battled further health issues, prompting management to seek a powerful replacement.
In his college career, Judkins recorded impressive stats, including 3,785 rushing yards and 45 touchdowns over three seasons. He excelled at Ohio State, especially during the national championship game where he accounted for three touchdowns, leading his team to victory.
“Quinshon brings not only talent but a proven track record of success,” said Browns General Manager Andrew Berry. “His physical running style will add depth to our offensive attack.”
Schwesinger also an impressive pickup, is known for his versatility on defense. Standing at 6-foot-3 and weighing 242 pounds, Schwesinger had a standout season at UCLA, recording 136 tackles, including 8.5 for a loss, in just 12 games.
“We believe Carson will enhance our defensive capabilities,” said head coach Kevin Stefanski. “His ability to make plays will be critical for us moving forward.”
As for the quarterback position, decisions around potential starters remain uncertain, with veterans still vying for their roles on the team. However, the Browns have indicated they may continue to explore options for new talent at various positions throughout the draft.
The NFL Draft continues with additional sessions, and updates regarding the Browns’ selections are expected to follow.
