Bryce Harper Tattoo Phillies Phanatic

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — Philadelphia Phillies star Bryce Harper is making headlines for his latest tattoo, an homage to the team’s beloved mascot, the Phillie Phanatic. The tattoo, which depicts the Phanatic on a four-wheeler, was inked on Harper’s right forearm and shared on social media by tattoo artist Hannah Matthews from Salt Lake City, Utah.

Matthews expressed her gratitude for the opportunity on TikTok, writing, ‘I’ll never know why I got this opportunity of a lifetime—but I could not be more grateful to Bryce for asking me to do this Phillies Phanatic piece!!’ Harper responded thoughtfully, saying, ‘Thank you for making my vision come true :)’

The timing of the tattoo reveal coincides with the beginning of Phillies Spring Training, which kicks off this Saturday, with the first game of the season slated for March 27 against the Washington Nationals.

Harper, who has a strong affinity for the Phanatic, has showcased his admiration for the mascot throughout his career in Philadelphia. Since signing a 13-year, $330 million contract with the team in 2019, he has donned various Phanatic-themed gear, including headbands and custom cleats, during games. His connection to the mascot runs deep; during a conversation with MLB.com in June 2024, he shared, ‘Even as an opposing player, I loved him. Just the way he interacted with the teams, players, and fans. I always thought it was really cool.’

Harper, who earned his eighth All-Star selection last season, finished the 2024 campaign with impressive statistics: 30 home runs, 42 doubles, and 87 RBIs, maintaining a .285/.373/.525 batting average. As the 32-year-old prepares for his seventh season with the Phillies, this new tattoo serves as a permanent reminder of his passion for the team and its legacy.

Spring training ignites excitement among fans and players alike, and Harper’s tattoo adds to the buzz surrounding the upcoming season, ensuring that Philadelphia baseball will be front and center for fans through at least the end of September.
