Bryce James Shines on Senior Night, Eyes College Career at Arizona

CHATSWORTH, Calif. — Bryce James, the youngest son of NBA superstar LeBron James, delivered a standout performance on senior night Thursday, leading Sierra Canyon High School to an 84-42 victory over Loyola. The 6-foot-4 guard scored 12 points, grabbed five rebounds, and dished out four assists in front of his family, including his father, who watched from the stands.
James, a three-star recruit committed to the University of Arizona, has faced challenges during his high school career, including eligibility issues and transferring between schools. Despite limited playing time, he has emerged as a key player for Sierra Canyon, which improved to 15-3 this season and remains a powerhouse in California high school basketball.
“It was a special night for Bryce,” said Sierra Canyon head coach Andre Chevalier. “He’s worked hard to get to this point, and it’s great to see him succeed, especially with his family here to support him.”
Ranked as the 47th-best shooting guard in the nation and the 29th-best overall player in California, James has drawn interest from several college programs, including Ohio State, USC, and Duquesne. He officially committed to Arizona on New Year’s Day, following in the footsteps of his older brother, Bronny James, who played one season at USC before entering the NBA draft.
LeBron James, who has been vocal about his pride in his sons’ accomplishments, took to social media to celebrate Bryce’s performance. “So proud of you Maximus!!! I literally just shed a tear! PROUD POPS!!” he tweeted, using Bryce’s middle name.
As Sierra Canyon prepares for upcoming games against top-tier opponents like Harvard-Westlake, James aims to finish his high school career on a high note. With his college future secured, he is focused on proving his critics wrong and showcasing his ability to compete at the next level.
“Bryce has a lot of potential,” said recruiting analyst Greg Hicks. “He’s got a great shot, and he’s a smart player. If he continues to develop, he could make a big impact at Arizona.”
With the NBA draft on the horizon for Bronny and Bryce’s college career set to begin next year, the James family continues to make headlines in the basketball world. LeBron, who has defied age and expectations throughout his career, has expressed hope of playing alongside both of his sons in the NBA, a feat that would be unprecedented in league history.
