As the 2024 college football season reaches its midpoint, the Army West Point Black Knights are off to a stellar start, thanks in large part to the outstanding performance of quarterback Bryson Daily. With a 5-0 record, Army is enjoying one of its best starts since 1996, and Daily’s dual-threat capabilities have been instrumental in this success.

Daily has been a force on the ground, averaging 120.4 rushing yards per game and scoring 10 rushing touchdowns, which leads the American Athletic Conference in both categories. His total of 602 rushing yards on 95 carries, with an average of 6.3 yards per attempt, has set the tone for Army’s dominant rushing attack. The team has accumulated 1,806 rushing yards through five games, averaging an impressive 361.2 yards per game on the ground.

In addition to his rushing prowess, Daily has also shown significant improvement as a passer. He has completed 17 of 30 passes for 380 yards and five touchdowns without throwing an interception, posting a passer rating of 218.1. His ability to keep defenses honest with his arm has added a new dimension to Army’s offense, making it harder for opponents to focus solely on stopping the run.

Daily’s performance has been complemented by other key players on the team. Running back Kanye Udoh has rushed for 434 yards and six touchdowns, while Noah Short has added 355 rushing yards and 12.7 yards per carry. The balanced attack has made Army’s offense difficult to contain, and their special teams have also been a consistent force, contributing to the team’s overall dominance.

Army’s defense has also been impressive, allowing only 9.8 points per game, which ranks fifth nationally. The team’s red-zone efficiency has been particularly noteworthy, converting on 19 of 20 trips inside the opponent’s 20-yard line, with 18 of those resulting in touchdowns. This comprehensive performance across all phases of the game has made Army a complete team and a strong contender for the conference championship.

As the season progresses, Army will look to build on their momentum with Daily leading the charge. Their upcoming game against UAB on October 12 will be a significant test, as UAB seeks to snap a four-game losing streak. Despite UAB’s strong pass defense, Army’s balanced offense and solid defense make them a formidable opponent.
