Bryson Dechambeau Golf Tournament Liv Golf Korea

In Incheon, South Korea, Bryson DeChambeau captured the individual and team titles at LIV Golf Korea on Sunday, finishing the tournament at 19-under 197. His impressive performance included a crucial 48-foot birdie putt on No. 17.

This victory marks DeChambeau’s third individual win on the LIV circuit and his first of the season. He secured the title by holding off his Crushers GC teammate, Charles Howell III, who finished just two strokes behind after shooting a 9-under 63.

“Charles and I had a great battle out there,” DeChambeau said. He took home $4 million for his win. The Sunday showdown was intense, with DeChambeau feeling the pressure after struggling in previous final rounds this season. He held 36-hole leads in Miami and Mexico City, as well as during the Masters.

Howell began his final round strong, closing the front nine at 4 under, shrinking DeChambeau’s lead to just one stroke. However, DeChambeau responded on the back nine, making six birdies to seal his victory, despite Howell’s impressive run of five consecutive birdies.

After bogeying the par 5 No. 16, Howell finished strong with a birdie on the last hole but fell short of catching DeChambeau. “I knew today would be a tough day to catch Bryson, but I gave it my best,” Howell said. “Any time you shoot 9-under par in the last group and still don’t win, it’s a tough day.”

The Crushers team, which included DeChambeau and Howell, shot 20 under par on Sunday, defeating Smash GC by nine strokes. “Charles and Bryson won this for us,” teammate Paul Casey said. “Our job was to not mess it up.”

Talor Gooch finished in third place with a 6-under 66, while Jon Rahm and Rory McIlroy tied for fourth. DeChambeau will next compete in the PGA Championship at Quail Hollow Club on May 15-18, where he hopes to secure his third major title.
