Milwaukee Bucks Taurean Prince Steals Basketball

MILWAUKEE, Wis. — The Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Indiana Pacers 126-119 Saturday night, bolstered by an impressive performance from Taurean Prince, who recorded a career-high five steals and scored 14 points. The victory was crucial as both teams entered tie for fourth place in the Eastern Conference playoff standings.

Prince’s contributions helped the Bucks secure the season series against the Pacers, winning three out of four matchups. Milwaukee is now 38-28 this season and has proven to be formidable when scoring 120 points or more, with a 25-1 record in such games.

Veteran forward Giannis Antetokounmpo led the Bucks with 34 points and 10 rebounds, while Damian Lillard added another 25 points, hitting six 3-pointers. The Bucks shot an impressive 96.2% from the free-throw line, making 25 of 26 attempts.

Prince’s all-around performance marked a turning point in the game. “Basketball is something I’ve been doing since I was young. I just wanna win,” said Prince after the game. His defensive efforts disrupted the Pacers’ offensive flow and showcased his versatility in adapting to a new starting role this season.

Despite falling behind briefly in the first quarter, the Bucks never trailed after the initial five minutes. They surged to a 19-point lead in the second quarter, largely propelled by Lillard’s shooting. However, the Pacers responded well, closing the gap to just five points by halftime.

Pacers guard Aaron Nesmith led Indiana with a career-high 30 points, while forward Pascal Siakam added 26 points and six rebounds. Tyrese Haliburton also contributed significantly, finishing with 24 points and 15 assists, yet his efforts fell short as the Pacers struggled to maintain their momentum.

Against the backdrop of an intense playoff race, both teams knew the importance of this matchup. “This game could prove crucial in the playoff tiebreakers,” said Bucks coach Mike Budenholzer. “Every win matters as we push toward the postseason.”

As the game progressed, Anthony Edwards sealed the Bucks’ victory by hitting four free throws in the final minutes, demonstrating his calm under pressure. “He’s not scared of the moment, and he showed it tonight,” noted Antetokounmpo in response to Prince’s performance.

The Bucks will aim to maintain their winning momentum when they face the Oklahoma City Thunder next. The game, scheduled for Sunday at 8 p.m. Central, promises to be another test for a team striving for playoff positioning.
