Bucks set to pursue De’Anthony Melton amid playoff push

MILWAUKEE, Wis. — The Milwaukee Bucks, currently holding the No. 4 seed in the Eastern Conference with a record of 36-25, are eyeing potential roster upgrades as the NBA season approaches its final stretch. With free agency on the horizon, reports suggest that the Bucks may look to enhance their lineup by targeting former guard De’Anthony Melton.
Fadeaway World’s Eddie Bitar indicates that Melton is projected to command a contract in the $10-15 million range. Bitar noted Melton’s versatility, saying, “His ability to guard multiple positions and hit the occasional three makes him a perfect fit for a playoff team, and we expect a variety of teams to show interest in a team-friendly deal including the Celtics, Sixers, or Bucks.”
This season, Melton struggled with injuries but averaged 10.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.2 steals per game before his setbacks. He demonstrated solid shooting percentages, hitting 40% from the field and 37% from three-point range. If signed by the Bucks, Melton could complement superstar Damian Lillard in the backcourt, either as a starting guard or providing crucial support off the bench.
Experts believe that adding Melton would significantly bolster Milwaukee’s chances for a deep playoff run, providing a strong role player to assist their star lineup. As the offseason approaches, the Bucks will undoubtedly evaluate opportunities to secure talent that can contribute in high-stakes situations.
