MILWAUKEE, Wis. — The Milwaukee Bucks moved quickly following their game against the Denver Nuggets on Thursday night, signing forward/center Pete Nance to a two-way contract. The decision comes as the team hopes to bolster its roster ahead of the playoff stretch.

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, Nance, 25, has previously played brief stints in the NBA, most recently with the Philadelphia 76ers. His return to the Bucks marks a significant opportunity for Nance to find stability after being waived by the Sixers last month and returning briefly to the G League.

During his time with the 76ers this season, Nance participated in seven games, averaging two points and one rebound across roughly ten minutes of play, albeit with a shooting percentage of only 33 percent. His performance with the G League’s Cleveland Charge has been notably strong, showcasing his abilities as a versatile player.

Nance initially signed a two-way contract with the 76ers back in December but faced two waivers in his short tenure with the team. After being dropped again due to a trade deadline move that brought in Jared Butler, he found himself back with the Charge before landing with the Bucks.

The Bucks, who currently hold a 33-25 record, are coming off a recent 121-112 victory against the Nuggets. This signing is seen as a strategic move to support the main roster while giving Nance the chance to gain valuable experience within the league.

“We’re excited to add Pete to our rotation,” said Bucks head coach Mike Budenholzer in a post-game press conference. “He has a lot of potential and gives us depth as we continue to push for a playoff spot.”

Nance’s trajectory this season has been one of ups and downs, but as he joins his third NBA team, the Bucks hope he can contribute positively moving forward. The team has been navigating roster challenges after losing significant players to injuries and suspensions.
