Cade Cunningham Leads Pistons to Victory Over Magic
DETROIT, MI – Cade Cunningham scored 30 points and dished out 10 assists, leading the Detroit Pistons to a 135-116 victory over the Orlando Magic on Wednesday night.
The Pistons struggled early in the game, falling behind 15-6 as they missed nine of their first ten shots. However, they rallied in the second half, outscoring the Magic 70-52.
Jalen Duran also contributed significantly for Detroit, recording a double-double with 21 points and 13 rebounds. The Pistons improved their record to 3-2 while the Magic suffered their fourth consecutive loss, dropping to 1-4 on the season.
Detroit’s comeback began in the third quarter with a 14-1 run that put them ahead by 10 points. They extended their lead to as much as 16 points later in the period. Despite Orlando’s attempts to rally, they struggled at the free-throw line, missing 10 of their first 33 attempts.
Franz Wagner, a former Michigan star, led the Magic with 14 points, while Paolo Banchero and Cole Anthony combined for 46 points but struggled with their shooting, missing 17 of 30 field-goal attempts and 11 of 28 free-throw attempts.
The game featured an attendance of 19,244 fans at Little Caesars Arena. Both teams emptied their benches in the final minutes as Detroit cruised to victory.
The Pistons will play again on Saturday in Mexico City, while the Magic will visit the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday.
