Caitlin Clark Strengthens Game as WNBA Season Approaches

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Caitlin Clark, the WNBA Rookie of the Year, is back in practice as she prepares for her second season with the Indiana Fever. Teammates have noted that Clark has significantly increased her muscle mass since last year, boosting her performance ahead of the new season.
Clark’s teammate Kelsey Mitchell expressed excitement over the improvements, stating, “It seems small, but it’s going to make her go from having 25 points to having 28 or 10 assists to 12 assists.” Indiana’s preseason games kick off this weekend, as the team aims to improve on last year’s performance.
The Fever have taken major steps to enhance their roster, bringing back head coach Christie White after her success with the Connecticut Sun. The team also acquired several players through trades and free agency, including Natasha Howard and DeWanna Bonner, positioning themselves as strong contenders for the WNBA championship.
In addition to her own growth, Clark is aware that team dynamics might require sacrifices. She commented, “When you win, that’s what’s fun. Nobody cares about their personal stats. Everybody’s going to have to give a little bit, but that’s what it takes to win.” Clark’s focus is on capturing the organization’s first championship since 2012.
Seattle Storm guard Lexie Brown praised the Fever’s efforts in building around Clark, saying, “They gave Caitlin some dawgs around her. They not playing around. They gave her some more shooters.” Brown highlighted Natasha Howard as a key signing for the Fever.
As excitement builds for the upcoming season, the Fever look to leverage their new lineup and Clark’s enhanced skills in pursuit of a title.
