Calls for Trump’s Impeachment Heat Up After Court Ruling

Trump Impeachment Supreme Court Ruling

WASHINGTON (TNND) — Representative Shri Thanedar, D-Mich., announced Wednesday his support for impeaching President Donald Trump following the administration’s noncompliance with a recent Supreme Court ruling. The court determined last week that the Trump administration was required to return a deported individual to the United States from El Salvador.

Despite this ruling, enforcement of Supreme Court decisions falls outside the court’s power, allowing the executive branch to ignore such demands. On Wednesday, U.S. District Judge James E. Boasberg stated that there was probable cause to hold the Trump administration in criminal contempt for not adhering to the court’s order. While Boasberg can refer the case for prosecution, the ultimate decision rests with the Department of Justice.

Rep. Thanedar asserted that Trump’s disregard for the Supreme Court’s ruling constitutes grounds for impeachment. “I’ve seen enough,” he posted on X. “Donald Trump is not abiding by a lawful Supreme Court ruling. As a member of Congress, I fully support impeaching him. NOW.”

Trump has made history as the only federal official to face impeachment twice during his first term, though he was acquitted both times in the Senate, allowing him to remain in office unscathed by disqualification.

In a related matter, Trump directed impeachment demands at Judge Boasberg in a post on Truth Social last month, stating, “HE DIDN’T WIN ANYTHING! This judge, like many of the Crooked Judges’ I am forced to appear before, should be IMPEACHED!!!”

The political tension surrounding Trump’s presidency continues to escalate as he remains a controversial figure even after his previous impeachments. The implications of this recent court ruling and the growing calls for impeachment may further ignite political divisions within Congress and among the public.

For those following the situation closely, updates are expected as developments unfold regarding potential actions by the Department of Justice and responses from the Trump administration.
