Cam Little Breaks NFL Field Goal Record with 68-Yard Kick

Jacksonville, FL — Cam Little, the kicker for the Jacksonville Jaguars, made NFL history on Sunday by kicking a stunning 68-yard field goal, the longest in league history. The feat occurred just before halftime in a game against the Las Vegas Raiders at TIAA Bank Field.

Little’s kick shattered the previous record of 66 yards held by Justin Tucker, who set it in 2021. The kick helped the Jaguars close the score to 6-3 at halftime, contributing to their eventual 30-29 victory in overtime.

The 22-year-old Little, originally from Moore, Oklahoma, showcased his extraordinary kicking ability after a standout high school career at Southmoore High School. As a senior, he was recognized as the top-ranked kicker in his class, earning multiple NCAA Division I offers before settling on the Arkansas Razorbacks.

During his three seasons at Arkansas, Little became renowned for his accuracy, finishing with a remarkable field goal percentage of nearly 83% and never missing an extra point attempt. Little entered the NFL as a sixth-round pick in the 2024 Draft, becoming the youngest kicker to be drafted in the league.

Before his record-breaking kick, Little booted a 70-yarder during the preseason, which highlighted his strong leg. His record-breaking kick on Sunday confidently sailed through the uprights, easily clearing the crossbar and indicating he could have made it from five yards further.

In addition to the record-setting field goal, Little also made another crucial 48-yard field goal late in regulation, bringing the game to a tie and sending it to overtime. He contributed to the victory by successfully making the extra point after the Jaguars scored in overtime.

This season, Little has turned in an impressive performance overall, having completed 11 of 15 field goal attempts. His previous long for the current season was 52 yards. The strong showing against the Raiders solidifies his reputation as one of the league’s emerging stars.

Little’s accomplishment not only marked a milestone for his young career but also reignited excitement in the Jaguars’ locker room, as teammates celebrated the historic moment.
