Cameroon Drops Manchester United Goalkeeper Onana For Nigeria Clash

Cameroon‘s national team has once again left out Andre Onana, the goalkeeper for Manchester United, for their upcoming match against Nigeria in the Africa Cup of Nations. This decision comes after Nigeria defeated Cameroon 2-0 in the last 16 tie, with Ademola Lookman, formerly of Everton and Fulham, scoring both goals.

Although the Nigeria squad boasts four Premier League players – Alex Iwobi of Everton, Ola Aina and Josh Onomah of Fulham, and Victor Osimhen of Leicester City – all of whom started the match against Cameroon, Onana’s absence from the tournament could potentially make him available for Manchester United’s upcoming fixture.

During the Africa Cup of Nations, Onana has only played one match, which Cameroon lost 3-1 to Senegal in the group stage. Nigeria’s victory now sets them up for a quarter-final clash against Angola on February 2.
